Nowadays, pennies don't have much value. Most people consider them fairly worthless. They are no longer being made and therefore will eventually be useless. If you ask Logan though, he will disagree. Before we even had children, Darryl and I had collected the odd souvenir penny, made by squishing them in special presses found in various tourist attractions. Flash forward many years to Logan. Upon discovering them one day, Logan decided then and there that he had to have more. We don't see these machines very often, so when we do it is a nice treat. This past weekend in Banff, we were thrilled to discover one of them at the top of the Gondola. You put in a loonie and a penny, turn a wheel, and out pops a flattened penny with whatever design you choose. Cailyn chose the elk design, Logan's is of the mountains. He even has a penny portfolio that he puts them in :) More precious than gold it is to him!
