Wanna Dance?!

Last night, Cailyn danced in her very first competition in Cold Lake. She is not in competitive dance this year, the program is so much different than what she is used to. But the Wanna Dance company was bringing it's competition to our town so the teacher decided to enter them as a novice, recreational group. Wow, what a difference there is between dancers in the Maritimes and here! I had heard that it was quite noticeable...no kidding! Even the most advanced dancers we saw last night were no where near the caliber of what we are used to seeing from the various dance schools back home. Cailyn was nervous going into this one, mainly because they had only finished the dance two weeks ago, and one of the weeks was taken for pictures :/ Well, they gave it a go. They did well considering they had only practiced the entire dance maybe three times. She was disappointed though. By this time of year, she usually has 7 or 8 dances under her belt and is ready for competition. And they are used to high marks. She finds it frustrating that it has taken this long to just learn one dance! But it is a good dance for a group of girls who have never competed before, and she knows things are different here. Just going to take some getting used to I guess. Hopefully by recital they will give a performance that truly shows their talent....I know it is there :D In the meantime, I think they should be proud of that silver. They worked hard for it! Nothing wrong with blue ;)
