Kejimkujik

One of our most favorite places ever is Keji! We go there several times throughout the year. Once the sun starts shining, and the roads are clear, we start getting the itch to go. Last summer, we camped there and spent an entire day in a canoe. We had canoed to Peter's Point and spent a few hours on a secluded white sand beach. It was such an amazing day!

So for our hike today, we decided to walk to the same place we had visited during our camping trip.

As you can see, it was another beautiful day!

The day was made even more exciting by some little leprachaun who left little "pots of gold" for the kids to find along the trail :)

It ended up being a very long hike, but the kids did so amazing. Because there was so much snow still in the park, all the unpaved roads were still not cleared. We had to park and walk in a couple kilometres until we reached the area where the trails started. All in all, we probably covered about 8 km!

Our wonderful family day ended on a great note...as we were leaving the park, we saw three deer. After watching them for several minutes, we decided to move on. We had only driven about 50 feet when we saw some more. 4 0r 5 to be exact! Then we saw a few more. It was very exciting! It is very cool to see animals in their own habitat, just roaming free and happy. They are quite comfortable with people being around them, as long as we respect their personal space :)

Much nicer than the coyotes we heard calling back and forth to each other near the end of our hike. The one closest to us sounded like he was only a few hundred feet away...that got Cailyn and Logan moving! We were all tired after spending the afternoon hiking, so that was just what we needed to get us moving those last kilometer or two :P
