So today we set off to Ross Farm to learn about what a day in the life of a cow is like! We didn't really learn as much about cows as we thought, but we still had a great day.
We ran into some good friends right after we arrived :) Kendra is our wonderful friend and babysitter extraordinaire! We enjoyed some hot chocolate and made standup cow pictures before moving on to the school house. There, the kids got to make either postcard puzzles or write out a postcard with old fashioned quill pens. There is normally a sign that says not to ring the school bell, but today they actually got to...very exciting! After we left the schoolhouse, we went for a sleigh ride with Ginger and Salazar, and got to meet some of the locals :)
When we got to the woodshop, the kids got to make their own leather bookmarks! They got to punch their initials into the leather that had been precut and presoaked for them. Logan only hit himself once in the head with the mallet (sorry, no pics! lol)
After lunch, we went to the cottage where the kids learned how to make candles out of beeswax and animal tallow (hence the cow theme). We never get tired of this place and there is always something new to do or experience whenever we go.
The weather was beautiful and it was so nice just to be together....

Wow, sounds like a fun filled day! It's great that they have so many hands on activities for the kids. Nice that you had a beautiful day.
it is one of the best kid places to go around here I think. And you can't help but like it when there is always treats in the cottage to sample,lol!
