15 Minutes of Fame

well, actually, it was more like 8 minutes of fame :P
Still very exciting though!
Cailyn and another classmate went on the local radio station this morning to promote a community fundraiser they are involved in through their school. Both girls are part of the Youth Ministry. At Christmas time, the group was involved in decorating a tree which was later auctioned off. Proceeds from that, a dance,and a bake sale went to the local food bank. They also went to the Food Bank and helped make up the Christmas hampers! Now, they are doing a penny drive. They are organizing another bake sale and dance. To get the community involved, they have set up a challenge for local businesses. Each business that gets the money box/jar will have it for 48 hours before passing it on. The students already have 300 dollars saved to get it started. They are challenging the public to match that....whoever has it when the campaign ends in April can decide which local community group to donate it to :)
The girls did a fantastic job getting the message out and were very well spoken. They should be very proud of themselves, I know I am! And they convinced at least one person to make a donation..Logan decided he wanted to donate some of his allowance :D
