Party for Pets

For Cailyn's 11th birthday, she was in Edmonton at a dance competition.  Between weekends away and recitals, the party just wasn't happening.  Well finally on May 6th, 3 weeks after her birthday, it happened.  She chose to have a pool party since she loves to swim.  She invited a few girls from dance, as well as her entire class!  She didn't want gifts though :)  She had decided long before that she would collect donations for the Humane Society.  Well, not only was the party awesomely fun, it was a huge success too!  In addition to the food, treats, snacks and more, she raised 240 dollars!  She was very proud and grateful, as was I.  After the party was over, she wanted to go right to the shelter.  The staff there took her picture with one of the adoptable dogs and accepted the gifts.  She went to sleep that night with a happy heart :)  But the story doesn't end there!  A few days later at the student assembly, Cailyn was called up in front of the entire school.  Apparently Mr.Baker had found out what she had done.  He asked someone from the shelter to come talk about the animals and how we can help.  Again, she got her picture taken.  More importantly,  she showed everyone that you are never too young to do a good deed. a
