This past Friday was Military Appreciation night at Commonwealth Stadium. We had gone last year and enjoyed complimentary tickets to see Edmonton beat Toronto in a very close game. So we figured why not go again?! They were set to play Montreal so we thought it would be a good game to watch. After a verrrryyyyyy long bus ride, we arrived at the Stadium just in time for kickoff. The game was actually quite painful for most of it...Montreal was kicking Eskie butt all over the field lol. We aren't die hard football fans so that was ok, but it made for a boring game. At some point, the Eskies woke up and started playing. The score at the end was 38-25 for Montreal. Edmonton gave them a good fight but a little too late in the game unfortunately...
On a good point, it made me proud to see so many of our military there in uniform. It was something to see all those people saluting a giant flag as over 37000 people sang O Canada. Random people came up to Darryl to shake his hand and thank him for his service to our country. It made me proud to be there with him!
Looking forward to next years game :)
