Visiting Cougar Town

This past Friday was Family Day at Darryl's work.  We were all looking forward to the chance to go for a ride in a helicopter.  Well, except maybe Darryl.  He isn't a huge fan of height and things like that ;)
We arrived early and filled out all the necessary paperwork.  We had time to spend before our briefing so we went and checked out Darryl's office.  As spacious as it is, it is still an office, lol.  I think I'd go nuts in there with no view of the outdoors.  We looked at the F-18's and the kids sat in the cockpit of one.  Looked at the different weapons and decorated cookies.  Finally it was time for our briefing... Stay away from the rotors, do up your harness, pay attention ;P.  The usual...
Well the ride was awesome! We flew up to the northern part of the city.  We flew over Kinisoo Beach at Cold Lake, the marina, and the downtown area.  We saw the kids school and our house and everything in beteween!  Not as smooth as a ride in an Aurora but still pretty cool :D
When we got back, the kids got their faces painted and we had some BBQ for lunch.  By that time, we were ready for a short rest.  We only had a couple hours before we needed to be on the bus for our trip to watch the football game.  Glad we got to see another side of the base...even if it meant leaving cameras at home.  Very happy to be part of the Cougar family ;)
