We love this place! We go there so often that most of the staff recognize us as regulars. But there is always so much to do, that we HAVE to keep going back :)
Springtime on the farm is fun because there are usually new kittens in the barn, as well as new piglets, ducks, chicks, calves and lambs. There is nothing cuter than a lamb that is only a few hours old and learning how to prance around on it's skinny little legs!
This coming weekend is the annual sheep shearing weekend. It is one of the events we always miss because it seems to fall on the same weekend as Cailyn's dance recital and her friend Laine's birthday party. So we are going to miss it...again! But in a couple weeks, it will be the Pumpkin planting weekend. This is probably one of our favorite times. You can go and plant a pumpkin, your name is recorded and your pumpkin is given a number. You can visit throughout the summer and see how it is doing and growing. In September, they harvest the pumpkins and you come get yours to take home. The kids love getting to take their pumpkins home!
We also like the family participation weekend, and the Teddy Bear picnic is a must.
There are always treats at the cottage, and wagon rides with Sal and Ginger. Everyone who works there is so friendly, and eager to teach about life on the farm. It is definitely a must-do if you have children!!
And for the dads, during the Encampment weekend, they can learn how to fire a musket :)
So between the cute animals, hands on activities, guns and food, everyone should be happy!
