Edmonton!

Because Logan hasn't really made any friends yet, and couldn't have a real birthday party, we decided to go to Edmonton for the weekend following. The plan was to go to Galaxy Land or the Water Park and maybe check out some other stuff around the city. The CCMA Fan Fest was also being held that particular weekend, so we were all looking forward to getting away!

Friday we drove into Edmonton, and thought before we checked into our hotel, that we would go to the Telus World of Science. I had seen the brochures and it looked awesome, like the Discovery Center but so much more :). Unfortunately, when we arrived we discovered that there had been a water main break so the building was closed. Bummer! So we went to the zoo instead. It was pretty cool, but the staff were not friendly at all :(. Apparently customer satisfaction is not a high priority in this province. (except for at Boston Pizza in town, they have a fantastic host there who we love! But anyway...I'm getting off topic, lol).

We checked out a bit of the mall that night and got a sneek peek at Galaxyland. Both kids went to bed very excited about the next day.

The next day though, Logan just didn't seem himself. He was very warm and wasn't saying much. Darryl and the kids dropped me off at the mall for the Fan Fest than went back to the hotel, thinking that maybe he would feel better after a while. He took some medicine for the fever and fell asleep. A little while later he got sick and spent the rest of the day in bed. Since the room was paid for already, we decided to stay in the hopes that if he felt better Sunday morning, maybe he could at least go see the sea lions. Sunday morning, we went for a dip in the pool but it was obvious he wasn't enjoying it. He had thought he was ok but realized very quickly he still felt awful. He thought it would be best to just head home. We were all disappointed but I think Logan most of all. He shed a few tears over it :(

Usually Logan gets over whatever he has pretty quickly, but this hung on right through til Wednesday! He is better now, so we can start looking at going back again. We will be keeping our fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy this time....
