First Day of School

As if the first day of school wasn't exciting enough, this year the kids were starting at a whole new school. Logan felt that summer had gone on long enough and he was excited to get back (see how long THAT feeling lasts, lol). Cailyn not so much :P. She has enjoyed being able to play outside all day with the kids next door and doesn't like the early mornings. We already visited their school and got a tour when they were registered, and they were quite impressed with everything they saw. Each class has a Smartboard, as well as breakaway rooms between every two classrooms. The mascot is a coyote and their principal is from Australia, so lots of new stuff. They were looking forward to it in the week leading up to it, they enjoyed picking out and labelling all their school supplies, buying new backpacks, etc. When the big day finally arrived though, they were both nervous. Logan worries about making a good first impression, Cailyn was wishing she had her friends with her.
When it was all done and they had returned home, it was with smiles. Both say they really like their teachers and classrooms. They wish they knew more people but understand that will take a bit of time. One day at a time.
All dressed up in their new outfits. Unlike NS, it feels like fall here in the mornings, so the kids were able to wear the jeans and shirts we had picked out for their first day.

But of course, it was raining, like pretty much every other day. (Although we have had three days in a row of sunshine now! Going to get up to 22 today!)

Getting on the bus with all their new school supplies and boxes of tissue :) Bus driver seems very nice.
